[[File:NCitemb2.png|right]] Nova Crystals are small items that are manufactured by The Krath Dynasty for use as its currency. Produced in a factory like any other item, they are strictly controlled by The Krath Dynasty to ensure that the value of the currency does not change beyond their control. To this regard they have two forms of Nova Crystal: Secure Nova Crystal and Mobile Nova Crystal.

These crystals have an equivalent credit value which the faction defines and will readjust on a regular basis. Players may accumulate several of them and opt to trade these with others instead of credits.
 
===Secure Nova Crystal===
This is the primary form used, and involved the items being kept in a secure warehouse where very few people have access to. They are not removed under any conditions. However ownership of the items are made over to various players and factions as needs be, and this allows for instantaneous transfer, making it similar to credit transactions.
 
===Mobile Nova Crystal===
This form is rarely used. If a player or faction wishes to gain posession of their Nova Crystal, they would take this form. This is then put into a secure location so that it can be picked up by the new owner.
 
==Why Use Them?==
The Krath Dynasty and affiliates use them for monthly salaries for their members, rather than credits like other factions use. It gives a different RP flavour for payment over the standard credit that everyone else uses.
 
===Their Value===
Obviously, since they are used in lieu of credits they must have a value. Initially Nova Crystals had a set value of ''1 NC = 50,000 credits'', however changes to the system allowed for a variance on the value of an individual Nova Crystal based on market prices of a variety of different entities. This means that what you get paid today, will still be worth the same with regards to a vehicle or ship etc the next day, which is not usually the case with credits.
