Recycling is the process of turning an entity back into Raw Materials. There are two steps to recycling: wrecking and recycling.

Wrecking

Wrecking is the process of damaging an entity so that it can be recycled at a later date.

Recycling

Recycling is where you break apart a wreck, destroying it to generate a number of Raw Materials.

Requirements

In order to be able to recycle you must meet some requirements first.

  • You must be in an entity that has the recycling capability, such as the Salvager Droid. Indicated by the icon: Recycle.gif
  • The recycling entity must be owned by a Recycling faction.
  • Recycling faction must have sufficient credits to cover the recycling.
  • Must be sufficient storage space if wanting to recover any Raw Materials.
  • The entity being recycled must be either owned by the Recycling faction, or Managed by the Recycling faction while the Operator is a member of that faction.
  • There must be a player of NPC present for the entire time of recycling.
  • Any NPCs being used for recycling must be the 'Recycler' NPC type, and must be owned either by the Recycling faction or the pilot of the recycling vehicle.
  • Any NPCs must be in a room inside the recycling entity.

How Do I Recycle?

Once you meet the above requirements, you can begin to recycle. To do so, do the following:

  •  ::Control::
  • Click [Enter Cockpit] or [Building Management] depending on where you are.
  • Click the [Actions] button on the central horizontal bar.
  • Click the [Recycle] button on the left.
  • Click the [Recycling Status] button in the center.
  • From the list of available wrecks, tick the box of the one you wish to recycle.
  • Click the [Add] or [Add All] buttons to add them to the queue for recycling.
  • Click [Start Recycling].

It will give you details on the entity you are recycling, such as:

  • Name - what it is called
  • Damage - how much damage it has received
  • Estimate, Time - the rough time it will take to finish recycling
  • Estimate, Cost - the rough cost it will take to recycle the entity
  • Estimate, Returned Material - the rough percentage of RMs you will receive from recycling the entity

Recycling a City

Only empty cities (with no facilities in them) can be recycled. To recycle a city, that city must be owned by the same Recycling faction as the owner of the recycling entity.
