This is the main form of combat that has been implemented so far. The Arrest and Execute process allows a player character to capture another player character or NPC and, if so desired, may also terminate the arrested. There are currently some severe restrictions as to its use. First of all, usually an arrest warrant has to be issued, which either has to be provided by the faction the desired target is member of, or by a specially privileged faction (i.e. military or security faction). Further, arrests can only be made in certain territories, and various conditions have to be met to do so.

There are some severe restrictions as to its use, primarily that places where you can perform an A/E is limited by which faction you are in, and what territory they control.

Whether the actual arrest attempt is successful also depends on several factors. Basically, the skill level of the player character arresting is checked against the respective skill(s) of the defender. A successful attempt means that the target is subsequently arrested. The arrested character has then only limited access to player functions, and is only able to use the forums and the darkness messaging system.

Combat is actions that are used to attack or defend from other players and similar. There is a variety of different aspects to combat, as below.

A/E

See Arrest and Execute

This is the main form of combat present at this time. It is the process where a player captures another player or NPC and then kills them. There are some severe restrictions as to its use, primarily that places where you can perform an A/E is limited by which faction you are in, and what territory they control.

Simply put its a skill check of the arrester against a skill check of the defender, and a sucessful attempt means that the target is then arrested. As an NPC they cannot do anything. As a player, they have limited access to any of the game interface, being able to access the forums and messaging.

Shields

See Shields

This is a defensive application mainly, used to prevent unwanted passage of players to the planets surface. If a Shield Generator is linked to a Computer Control Center, then anyone on the Computer Control Center's Crewlist will have access through the shield, and can pass as though it was not there. It prevents travel both to and from the planets surface.

Creature Combat

See Creature Combat

This is a form of combat where players use weapons to attack creatures that spawn on planets surfaces. An aggression level determines the chance that the creature will spontaneously attack the player, and each has a different attack that they will use against the player.
